EMDR & PTSD Treatment in Los
Angeles for nightmares, intrusive thoughts
& images from humiliating, sexual or violent past experiences.
Psychotherapy, couples or family and marriage therapy, stress,
anger & violence therapy in Los Angeles. Memories can
be desensitized so they no longer make you feel bad, scared
or ashamed. Addictions and obsessive compulsive behaviors.
I was trained in 1991 by Francine Shapiro
Ph.D. in using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)
for the treatment of PTSD (posttraumatic stess disorder) stress
symptoms such as insomnia, bad dreams, intrusive unwanted
thoughts, hypervigilance, thinking all the time about your
life, nightmares intimacy problems and being irritable. This
therapy helps eliminate bad thoughts, images, feelings or
behaviors.
Absolutely confidential therapy and treatment
for any types of bad thoughts, fantasies or imagery. If you
want to stop being so affected by those images, nightmares
or intrusive bad memories, EMDR is a brief and effective treatment.
Stop feeling so bad when you can't stop
remembering: Violent acts...as
victim or perpetrator... sexual incidents... humiliating experiences...near
death accidents ...physical trauma & violence, losses,
grief, experiences you regret or are ashamed of.
Examples: Memories from
Viet Nam or other wars, rape victim, sexual molestation or
incest, pet or animal abuse, bad memories from school or childhood,
victim of childhood teasing, shame as a result of your behavior,
excessive thoughts or feelings about abandonment, spiritual
estrangement, can't get over lost love relationship or just
plain feeling bad when you think of certain memories. Emdr
often works when other treatments fail to desensitize the
bad feelings, thoughts and images.

Individual & Couples Therapy-
I have 20years post graduate experience as a therapist treating
a variety of clients for anxiety, stress, panic, depression,
suicidal thoughts and addictions. Learn to control angry outbursts.
Or learn to handle yourself when others get angry in a hostile
way.
Forensic
Psychological Expert Witness for victims of
violence in Los Angeles INS courts. I am a psychological expert
witness for Federal
Immigration Court forensic psychological reports for immigrants
seeking asylum due to torture, domestic violence, discrimination
based on sexual orientation or gender and/or hardship waivers
of deportation. I was a consultant for the Program
For Torture Victims, Los Angeles for several years and
remain a consultant with the agency.
Marc's background makes his seminars relevent
to everyday couple's problems of communicating better. Besides
training and experience in doing his
'Coming Together For Life' couples workshops, he provides
effective and practical communication skills & psychotherapy
privately for clients in Los Angeles.
Drug & Alcohol Family & Work Interventions
to get someone you care about to seek treatment. I also conduct
alcohol/drug and behavioral family interventions or work related
interventions. These are loving but firm interventions for
behaviors that range from alcoholic or drug addicted husbands,
wives, employess and children to other behaviors such as gambling,
non compliance with medical instructions or work related control
problems. I use the methods of my friend Ed Storti. HIs principles
of preparation and attention to details are inspiring. And,
the attitude of being a last chance cheerleading session for
getting someone to get into treatment for their problem is
effective. Remember the real work is done in getting the people
doing the intervention to get into the proper attitude about
confronting the person with the problem. That's why I'll spend
4-6 hours with the family or supervisors before we meet with
the person.

services can be viewed HERE.

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for immigrants seeking
asylum based on claims of being tortured.
I also do some pro bono work for the Program
for Torture Victims in Los Angeles (if interested go
here) where we do psychological evaluations for refugees
seeking asylum in the U.S. based on having developed Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of being tortured
for political reasons in their country of origin. I have developed
a specialty in forensic psychological evaluations of PTSD
and depression, which occurs often in battered women and survivors

A final comment about
my style of therapy-
I do not sit calmly,
nodding my head saying "Uh-huh, tell me more... Sorry, time's
up." Especially with couples! I will be directive. You will
know who I am. You will know what I think.
If I think that a man
or woman has contempt or hostility
while speaking with their partner, it quickly gets
explained as unacceptable.
Contempt
stops communication and it is poison to repairing
the relationship.
I will tell you exactly
how I think I can help you find relief; and I'll tell you
when I don't know.
Absolute Confidentiality.
